About Yossi Tamari.

I'm a software architect and technical lead in Vancouver, BC. 2Net Consulting is my practice.

Background

I've built custom software for over 20 years, as a developer, team lead, architect and technical lead. Since 2019 most of it has been public-facing services for the governments of British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

I work in the gap between the business side and the technical side. I bring product, IT and operations people together, then turn what they need into specifications, prototypes and frameworks a team can build on. I also write down practices and guidelines, and mentor the developers who'll maintain the system.

Before that I spent six years at Western Union Business Solutions on cross-border payment, treasury and FX systems, and designed cloud services at Electronic Arts.

Estimates you can defendThe architecture comes with effort, staffing and a critical path, so the plan holds up when someone asks about it.
MaintainableDomain-driven design, automated builds and releases, and written guidelines the team can follow once I'm gone.
Everyone in the roomDecisions get made with the people who own the result, not sent around as a document.
MentoringI spend time with the developers, so the team knows the system when I leave.
